"It's a common enough lash (это обычная вполне плеть). But I don't know why it

I had never seen my friend's face so grim or his brow so dark (я никогда не видел

выражение лица) as it was when we turned from the scene of this investigation

walked several times up and down the lawn (мы прошли несколько раз взад и
