Непонятно только, каким образом лекарственные вещества влияют на функции нейротрасмиттеров, вызы­вая нормотимический эффект. Еще более слож­но объяснить, каким образом одно и то же био­химическое действие некоторых препаратов (например, лития) влияет на прямо противопо­ложные клинические состояния.
