2. Agree or disagree with the following statements. Explain your point of view.

1. Prejudice is an abstract concept that affects people other than ourselves. 2. Many people who often counter the prejudice of others. 3. Prejudice is based on stereotypes. 4. Informal intergroup contact is more effective than formal. 5. Discrimination on the basis of sex, religion, race, or disability is against the law. 6. Robert K. Merton suggested five possible ways that individuals can combine discriminatory behavior and prejudicial attitudes. 7. Cognitive psychologists consider that people’s behavior is influenced by inherited tendencies or repressed urges. 8. Some cognitive psychologists have suggested that frustration and suffering trigger feelings of anger. 9. A lot of people tend to interpret other people’s behavior as intentionally insulting or cruel even when it is not.

3. Give examples of ways not mentioned in the text that you might work together in or out of Academy to break down you own stereotypes and reduce your prejudices toward others.
