As provided in the above-mentioned B/L the goods were to be delivered to you against payment of Ј 275.00, representing the amount of freight to be collected on delivery of the goods.

In compliance with your request we began unloading yes­terday at 06.00 p. m. on the understanding that the money in question would be paid in to-day by 10.00 a. m. to our Agents here.

To-day, at 11.00 a. m., I was informed by our Agents, Mes­srs. Harry Cross & Co., that the money had not been paid as yet.

Under the circumstances I had to stop unloading and to detain a sufficient portion of goods until the said freight is paid in full, of which please take due note.
