Випадки відхилень від правил узгодження часів

Правило узгодження часів не застосовується в таких випадках:

1. Дієслово-присудок підрядного речення передає загальновідомий факт:

The teacher told us that the Earth goes round the Sun.

- Вчитель сказав нам, що Земля обертається навколо Сонця.

2. Must, should, ought в підрядному реченні не змінюються:

Director says (said) that we must send a telegram.

- Директор говорить (сказав), що ми повинні послати їм

телеграму.

3. Форма Present умовного способу не змінюється:

It is (was) necessary that we should send them a telegram.

- (Було) Необхідно, щоб ми послали їм телеграму.

4. Дієслово-присудок може не змінюватися в означальних реченнях, причини та порівняння:

The goods were loaded on the s.s. “Nova”, which will arrive at

Odessa in 3 days.

- Товари були навантажені на пароплав «Нова», який

прибуде в Одесу через 3 дні.

8. She said to me, “Replace the broken parts of the engine.”

9. The typist said, “I am sure I shall still be typing your report if you come in an hour”

10. She asked, “Will you still be erecting this bridge?”

3. Передайте прямою мовою:

4. She asked me what equipment the state had provided the institute of nuclear research with.

7. The manager ordered his staff to check all accounts.
