Cлова character

personality
'Despite their different personalities/characters, they became the best of friends.'
He has good character. She is a woman of a fine character.

В этих предложениях мы не можем употребить слово вместо 'When you choose your friends, don't be short-changed by choosing personality over character' (W. Somerset Maugham) (дословный перевод данной цитаты на русский язык невозможен, её можно перевести примерно так: «Когда выбираете себе друзей, не разменивайтесь, предпочитая порядочности коммуникабельность».)
