VI. A. Read and translate the descriptions of the pilot launches:
The pilot vessel is fitted with VHF 1 and has a black hull, white wheelhouse and “HARBOUR MASTER” – painted on both sides.
The pilot boat is a 12 m semi-rigid 2 boat with an enclosed 3 wheelhouse, orange hull and the word “PILOTS” shown on each side.
The pilot vessel is painted black with green boot- topping 4 and the word “PILOTS” forward on the wheelhouse.
Most French pilot vessels have a black hull with a narrow white band and an anchor painted on the funnel5, if the latter is fitted.
Belgian pilot boats have a black hull and upperworks6, with a white number on the bows. The funnel is yellow and by day they fly a red flag with a white letter ‘P’ inscribed.
