Assignment 1. Write words in normal English script with the help of transcription. Translate them into Ukrainian. Make up 5 sentences with the words:

Assignment 2. Substitute the italicized words in the sentences for their synonyms. Translate the sentences into Ukrainian:

1. The short-term success of any marketing effort depends on a strong product. 2. The product range consists of all the products a business sells. 3. Every product has a life cycle, the stages of which are introduction, growth, maturity and recession. 4. Strong competition from the multiple shops and supermarkets forced independent wholesalers and retailers to form voluntary associations. 5. A product consists of all visible and invisible items that consumers evaluate when deciding whether or not to buy something. 6. The term “raw material” is used to denote material that came from nature and is in an unprocessed or minimally processed state. 7. Accessory equipments are goods and materials purchased by organizations for use in production, but not directly in the manufacture or ultimate products. 8. In cost-based pricing, the seller first determines the total value of producing one unit of the product and then adds an amount to cover additional cost and income. 9. After setting the price for a product the seller uses different price strategies to modify it. 10. Industrial products are purchased for the use in a company’s activity or to make other products.

Assignment 3. Change the following sentences from the Passive to the Active Voice:

Our departure had been planned by us before his arrival. 4. The contract has been altered by our partners. 5. Assignment 4. Open the brackets and use the verbs in the Active or Passive Voice:

1. Ви отримаєте свої папери перш ніж директор повернеться з відрядження. 2. Колеги обговорять це питання на зборах перш ніж приймуть остаточне рішення. 3. Статтю з економіки перекладуть на німецьку до завтра. 4. Нас проінформували щодо управлінських змін у структурі організації. 5. Студенти вивчать дві іноземні мови на курсах до кінця навчання. 6. Сучасні споживчі товари будуть продані на сезонному ярмарку, щоб задовольнити особисті потреби споживачів. 7. Збори акціонерів компанії будуть проведені з обговоренням всіх поточних питань. 8.
