Important notices

  1. Salvage security. As soon as possible the owners of the vessel should notify the owners of other property on board that Ihis agreement has been made If Ihe Contractors are successful the owners of such property should nole thal it will became necessary lo provide the Contractors with salvage security promptly in accordance with Clause 4 of the LSSA Clauses referred to in Clause I The provision of General Average security does not relieve the salved interests of their separate obligation to provide salvage security lo the Contractors

Key to Notes in Drill Schedules

  1. Drills are required to be held every 14 days, 7 days if practical. It should be noted that some flags have additional requirements which must be taken into consideration

  2. Oil spills are to be held every 3 months. (i.e. SOPEP + OPA90 drills)

  3. To be held every 3 months (Tankers with VRPs only)

  4. Applies to dry cargo vessels only

  5. Refer to Ship Security Plan

  6. Vessels regularly carrying out STS operations as part of their normal trade to carry out these drills every 3 months. Irregular vessels should carry out these drills at least annually and prior to any STS operation

  1. To be held every 3 months

Masters to Note that:

The drills of the crew shall take place within 24 hours of the ship leaving a port if more than 25% of the crew have not participated in abandon ship and fire drills on board in the previous month.

When a ship enters management, or when a full crew change takes place, these drills shall be held before sailing.

Security drills are to be conducted at least once every three months. In addition, where more than 25% of

the crew have changed and are new to the ship, a drill is to be conducted within one week of the crew

change.
