ИНФИНИТИВ (THEINFINITIVE)
Инфинитив, или неопределённая форма глагола, отвечает на вопрос что делать? или что сделать? Показателем инфинитива является частицаto. В английском языке существуют простая и сложная формы инфинитива.

Инфинитив с соотносящимися к нему словами составляют инфинитивный оборот.
В предложении инфинитив или инфинитивный оборот может быть:
подлежащим (переводится существительным или неопределённой формой глагола)
To operate the complex device is rather difficult. Управлять этим сложным механизмом довольно трудно.
Признаком инфинитива- подлежащего является его положение в начале предложения перед сказуемым и отсутствие другого слова, являющегося подлежащим.
