Indriyäya véryäya annädyäya räyas

poñäya tviñöyai apacittai

This is for fame, for energy, for knowledge, for strength, for the senses, for courage, for sustenance, for wealth and prosperity, for brilliance and respect.”

He should sprinkle himself with water again saying:

oà parameçvara åñiù

gäyatré chandaù

çré ananto devatä

samävartane brahmacäryudakaïjali seke viniyogaù

oà yena kåñëa yaçogänam

yena çayyä yena äsanaà

yena upänat yena chatraà

Vyajanaà sütraà vasanaà

yat yat sevä yaçaù te sarvaà

tena mäà abhiñiïca tvam

Bathe me with those things which attain fame by serving you - songs of praise, your bed, seat, shoes, umbrella, fan, sacred thread and cloth.”

The student should sprinkle himself with water once more without mantra.

While standing, facing East, looking at the Deity of Viñëu, he should praise the Deity saying:

oà veda vyäsa åñiù

Viräö chandaù

çré viñëuù devatä

çré näräyaëopastäne viniyogaù

näräyaëah viräjan bhräjabhåñëuù indro marudbhiù asthät

prätaù yävabhiù pärñadaiù

daçaçaniù asi daçasanià

mä kuru ä tvä viçämy ä mä visa

Näräyaëa, shining with all pervading light, the King of all forces of nature, stands with the months - His associates - in the morning. You are the bestower of ten gifts. Make me the giver of ten gifts. I go towards You. Please come towards me.”

oà vaiçampäyana åñiù

anuñöup chandaù

çré sahasra-çérçä puruño devatä

çré näräyaëopastäne viniyogaù

näräyaëah viräjan bhräjabhåñëuù indro marudbhiù asthät

divä yävabhiù ävaraëaiù

çatasaniù asi çatasanià

mä kuru ä tvä viçämy ä mä visa

Näräyaëa, shining with all pervading light, the King of all forces of nature, stands with the months - His followers - in the daytime. You are the bestower of a hundred gifts. Make me the giver of a hundred gifts. I go towards You. Please come towards me.”

oà sanandana åñiù

anuñöup chandaù

çré håñikeço devatä

çré näräyaëopastäne viniyogaù

oà näräyaëo viräjan bräjabhåñëuù indro marudbhiù asthät

sayam yävabhiù çakhibhiù

sahasrasaniù asi sahasra sanià

mä kuru ä tvä viçämy ä mä visa

Näräyaëa, the Supreme Lord, shining with all pervading light, stands with the forces of nature, stands with the months - His friends - in the evening. You are the bestower of a thousand gifts. Make such a bestower of me. I am attempting to approach You. Please come towards me.”

oà sanätana åñiù

triñöup chandaù

çré viçvambharo devatä

çré näräyaëopastäne viniyogaù

oà eko devaù sarvabhüteñu güòha

sarvavyäpé sarva bhütäntarätmä

karmädhyakñaù sarvabhütädhiväsaù

säkñi cetä kevalo nirguëaç ca

You are the Supreme Lord, in the heart of all living entities. You are the all pervading guide of all souls, the controller of all activities, the Lord of all living entities. You are the witness, the destroyer, the complete whole, transcendental to material nature.”

oà nityo nityanäà cetanaç cetanänäà

eko bahünäà yo vidadhäti kämän

taà péöhagaà ye anubhajanti dhéraù

teñäà sukhaà çäçvataà netareñäm

oà namo namas tubhyaà näräyaëäya

Only the wise men who surrender unto the Eternal of all eternals, the Consciousness of all consciousnesses, the Lord who fulfills the desires of all living entities, who is situated in His own abode, attain eternal bliss. I pay obeisances again and again to Näräyaëa.”

The student should take off his kuça belt by lowering it to his feet, while saying:

oà hariù åñiù

anuñöup chandaù

çré väsudevätmajo devatä

mekhalä mocane viniyogaù

oà ud uttamaà varuëa päçaà

asmat ava adhamaà
