When Professor Brown received the invitation to the faculty luncheon, she read it quietly to herself: “Professors and Spouses are cordially invited to the faculty luncheon…” She called her spouse and asked them if they would have time to go to the luncheon. They weren’t an actress at all, but a lawyer.
