On a Shopping Spree

Class

Improvisation

Some students act as shop assistants in various departments: clothes, hats, jewellery, cosmetics, whatever. The others make shopping rounds.

You can shop alone or in pairs.

You can be looking for a gift.

You can go on a shopping spree to cheer yourself up.

You can just be window shopping because your purse is empty.

While shopping you may need your partner's opinion or that of a shop assistant's. Here are some ways of asking for someone's opinion, giving your opinion.

Note: The functions are divided into three groups: neutral, informal (marked by I) and formal (marked by F).

Asking for someone's opinion

What's your opinion of... ?

What are your feelings about...
