Other types of word-formation

Некоторые слова в английском языке относятся к разным частям речи, и различаются по произношению (чаще всего ударением), хотя в написании никаких различии нет:

'increase (n) возрастание — in'crease (v) возрастать,

'absent (adj) отсутствующий— ab'sent (v) отсутствовать.

Существительные и прилагательные имеют ударение на первом слоге, а совпадающие с ними по форме глаголы имеют главное ударение на втором.
