Task №2.

I. Образуйте четыре основные формы следующих глаголов:

to repeat, to translate, to study, to answer, to decide, to read, to do, to give, to know, to begin.

II. Переведите на английский язык:

читающий, рассказывающий, делающий, открывающий, дающий, посылающий, смотрящий, берущий, сидящий, входящий.

III. Переведите следующие словосочетания на русский язык:

a closed door, written work, a well-known write, a well-dressed woman, a well-done translation, a badly-made dress, one of the questions discussed.

IV. Переведите предложения, обращая внимание на перевод –ing- форм. Определите эти формы и их название и функции этих форм.

1. The students are translating an English text.

2. While reading this article he came across many new words.

3. My friend likes swimming.

4. He has the wish of writing the letter.

5. Doing morning exercises is useful for health.

6. We began learning this new grammar rule.

7. He was watching TV when the telephone rang up.

8. The young man, writing a composition, is my student.

V. Переведите предложения, обращая внимание на перевод слов с окончанием –ed-. Определите название и функции этих форм.

1. They discussed a lot of articles from these French magazines last week-end.

2. This English text is translated by my friend.

3. Though not prepared very well, he could answer that question.

4. He graduated from the university two years ago.

5. When translated into Russian, this book was read by many students.

6. They have learned a lot of new English words.

7. As asked he brought the journal.

8. After they had visited the practical classes they went home.

VI. Переведите предложения и определите функцию инфинитива.

1. To know the history of your university is useful.

5. Her wish to enter the university was quite natural.

6. I’d like you to send him a letter.

7. He is known to have a fine collection of English paintings.
