Exercise 2.1
Choose the correct tense form.
I
have read/ have been reading the whole day.How many pages have you read/have you been reading so far?

That guy has eaten/has been eating twenty doughnuts.

Why have you been/have you being in the garage so long?

What a lovely smell! – Yes, mum has roasted/ has been roasting chicken.
We have picked/ have been picking apples since morning and we have picked/ have been picking three basketfuls.
Exercise 2.2
Put the verbs in brackets in the Present Perfect Simple or Continuous. Sometimes both the tenses are possible.
Jim (plant) trees in the garden all day. has been planting
He (plant) ten trees so far.
I can’t drive. I (drink).
I (do) my homework. I can go for a walk now.
He (work) in this office for a month.
