Различные типы предложений в косвенной речи
Повелительное наклонение в косвенной речи
Команда, просьба в косвенной речи обычно выражается инфи-
нитивным оборотом:
He said to me, “Help me, please!” – Он сказал мне: «Помоги
мне, пожалуйста!»
→ He asked me to help him. – Он попросил меня помочь ему. My friends said, “Don’t wait for us.” – Мои друзья сказали: «Не
жди нас».
→ My friends said not to wait for them. – Мои друзья сказали не
ждать их.
She said, “Let’s go shopping.” – Она сказала: «Давай пойдем за
покупками».
→ She suggested going shopping. – Она предложила сходить за
покупками.
Повествовательные предложения в косвенной речи
Повествовательное предложение в косвенной речи обычно пре-
образуется в придаточное предложение, введенное союзом that:
The secretary said, “I reserved the room at the hotel yesterday.”
Секретарь сказал: «Я забронировал комнату в гостинице вчера».
→ The secretary said that she had reserved the room at the hotel
the day before. – Секретарь сказал, что он забронировал комнату
в гостинице вчера.
She said, “I will let you know as soon as I receive the results.”
Она сказала мне: «Я сообщу тебе, как только получу результаты».
→ She said that she would let me know as soon as she received
the results. – Она сказала, что сообщит мне, как только получит
результаты.
Вопросительные предложения в косвенной речи
В косвенном вопросе, в отличие от вопроса в прямой речи, не
происходит инверсии, то есть порядок слов такой же, как в обыч­ном повествовательном предложении (подлежащее стоит перед сказуемым):
She asked me, “Where are you going?” (прямой вопрос) → She asked me where I was going (косвенный вопрос).

Общий вопрос в косвенной речи вводится союзами if и
whether:
Jim asked, “Have you ever been to Italy?” – Джим спросил: «Ты
когда-нибудь был в Италии?»
→ Jim asked if I had ever been to Italy. – Джим спросил, был ли
я когда-нибудь в Италии.
The visitor enquired, “Am I allowed to park here?” – Посетитель
поинтересовался: «Мне можно припарковаться здесь?»
→ The visitor enquired whether he was allowed to park there.
Посетитель поинтересовался, можно ли ему припарковаться здесь.
Специальный вопрос вводится тем же вопросительным сло-
вом, что и соответствующий вопрос в прямой речи:
Rita asked me, “How are you feeling?” – Рита спросила меня:
«Как ты себя чувствуешь?»
→ Rita asked me how I was feeling. – Рита спросила меня, как я
себя чувствовал.
The students asked, “Why was the lecture cancelled?” – Студенты
спросили: «Почему была отменена лекция?»
→ The students wanted to know why the lecture had been can-
celled. – Студенты хотели знать, почему была отменена лекция.
Примечание:
Обратите внимание на перевод в косвенную речь отрицатель-
ных вопросов, обозначающих удивление и восторг:
“Don’t the children like ice cream?” she asked. – «Разве дети не
любят мороженое?» – спросила она.
→ She was surprised that the children didn’t like ice cream. – Она
была удивлена, что дети не любят мороженое.
“Isn’t she lovely?” I said. – «Разве она не прекрасна?» сказал я. → I remarked how lovely she was. – Я отметил, как она прек-
расна.
