ONDITIONAL SENTENCES.
THE SUBJUNCTIVE MOOD
If you come to my place tomorrow, we shall watch a new film. —
Future-in the-Past).
If you came to my place tomorrow, we would watch a new film. —
Past Perfect
Future Perfect-in
the-Past).
If you had come to my place yesterday, we would have watched a new
film.
-227-

(THE VERB)
If you had worked harder last year, you would know English well now. —
Past Perfect (had
worked).
Future-in the- Past (would know).
If we knew English well, we would have translated the article without
difficulty yesterday.
Past Indefinite
(knew).
Future Perfect-in the-Past (would have translated).
I wish I had more free time.
Глагол to be в подобных случаях имеет форму were для всех лиц.
I wish she were with us.
Past Perfect.
I wish he had come yesterday. —
