The History Of The Company SHARP

During 80 years of its history corporation SHARP repeatedly was called “the first” not only in the sphere of business but in the sphere of new technologies and inventions. The fifteenth of September, nineteen twelve is considered to be the date of foundation of the company, when Tokudgy Hayakava registered his firm of metal goods repairing. In 1915 he patented and began production of “ever-sharp pencil”, that needn’t sharpening. This gave the name to the corporation SHARP.

Nowadays SHARP is a wide net of filial occupied with the manufacturing and marketing of production. It also has several big scientific research centers and laboratories occupied with the working out of new technologies. The structure of the corporation SHARP consists of 27 trade departments in 23 countries, 24 production bases in 14 countries, 9 representations in 5 countries, 5 scientific research bases in 3 countries. 58,400 employees work in the corporation SHARP all over the world including 309,000 employees in Japan. The president of the corporation is Mr. Katsuhiko Machida. The aggregate capital of the corporation on the thirty first of August twenty oh one was 204153 mln yen ($ 1,660 mln). The production sphere of activity of the corporation includes manufacturing of household, office video electronics, data systems and electronic components. The progress is reached at the expense of the combination of high quality and moderate prices plus unique peculiarities.
