The Past Simple Tense.
I. Прошедшее простое время - это наиболее общая форма для выражения действий, имевших место в прошлом.
e.g. Last night my neighbours celebrated their wedding anniversary. – Вчера мои соседи отметили годовщину свадьбы. (Вполне очевидно, что действие произошло в прошлом, а именно, – вчера.) Простое прошедшее время образуется путем добавления окончания -ed к базовой форме глагола (для правильных глаголов). Неправильные глаголы меняют свою форму, а другими словами: их просто нужно выучить.
e.g.to use – used (правильный глагол) – использовать – использовал.
to give – gave (неправильный глагол) – дать – дал.
Слова-индикаторы:yesterday- вчера,thedaybeforeyesterday- позавчера,aweekago– неделю назад,lastmonth- в прошлом месяцеandetc.
