ther, the determination of specic antibodies is relevant for epidemiological studies and for
clarication of possible links between Zika virus infection and other diseases. Euroimmun
Anti-Zika virus ELISA (IgG, IgM) claims to be of high specicity.
Summa of Test Reactions
The test kit contains microtiter strips each with 8 break-off reagent wells coated with recom
binant non- structural protein (NS 1) of Zika virus.
1. In the rst reaction step, diluted patient samples are incubated in the wells.
2. In case of positive samples, specic IgM (also IgA and IgG) antibodies will bind to the
antigens.
3. To detect the bound antibodies, a second incubation is carried out using an enzyme-la
belled anti-human IgM (enzyme conjugate) catalysing a colour reaction.
