3. Числительные dozen, hundred, thousand, million, billion в составе сложного числительного употребляются в единственном числе:
three hundred metres, twenty-five billion dollars, a few thousand cars, several dozen people. Форма множественного числа этих числитель-
ных встречается в выражениях, указывающих на неопределенное
количество, в этом случае после числительного употребляется
предлог : dozen books, million people, some hundred acres,
many thousand miles.
4. В английском языке количественные числительные используются для обозначения:

При обозначении упражнений, частей, страниц, глав, параграфов возможно употребление порядкового числительного, которое
ставится перед существительным и употребляется с определенным артиклем : the second sentence, the third part.
