Часть 3. Понимание прочитанного
I. Прочитайте текст:
The incredible growth of the Internet over recent years has caused problems for parents and teachers. Parents worry about which sites their children spend time on, who they chat to online and the possible effects that computer games might have on them. For teachers, meanwhile, the main worry is the way the Internet makes cheating easier!
Schools and universities say there has been a huge increase in plagiarism –
taking other people’s words and ideas and pretending that they are your own. In
the past, anyone who wanted to copy had to go to a library, find the right books, read through them, find the sections they needed and then physically write down the words they wanted to use. Nowadays, though, students can simply copy extracts from websites – while really desperate students sometimes copy whole essays! As if this wasn’t bad enough, sites offering to actually do homework – at a price – have also started appearing.
Despite all this, we shouldn’t assume that the Internet only brings
problems. Indeed, you could say that for every problem the Internet creates, it

also brings a solution. Parents can now use sophisticated controls to stop kids accessing sites that might do them harm, whilst new software helps teachers to detect copied work immediately. Many, of course, are already able to recognize
when someone is cheating! ‘Some students suddenly start using words they can’t possibly understand’ explains one teacher, ‘or parts of their essays feel different. In fact, one of my students recently gave me an essay he’d copied from the Web and it even contained Web advertisements AND the name of the original author!’

Часть 3. Понимание прочитанного
I. Прочитайте текст:
More and more of the things that used to be science fiction are quickly becoming science fact. Human-like robots, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, advanced genomics, 3D printing are just a few drivers of major change that could transform the job markets of the future.
Automation now gets a lot of attention. Based on current technologies, about half of all economic activities worldwide could be automated by 2055. And roughly six out of every 10 occupations are likely to have 30 percent or more of their tasks automated. Anything that involves physical activity in a controlled environment is at the greatest risk of being automated. But many futurists expect robots or intelligent machines to eventually take over a lot of office and white-collar tasks as well.
Technology is probably the strongest force that will influence the labor markets of tomorrow, but many other factors will play major roles too. The future is also likely to be transformed by factors such as the growing "sharing economy," the rise of freelance and project-based work, the expanded use of blockchain technology for economic transactions, and an exponential increase in data collection related to almost all areas of our lives.

Humanity may face many challenges, but we can't stop exploring or having fun. And technology will keep opening new avenues for exploration, entertainment, and recreation. For example, imagine regular manned missions to the moon and Mars, space elevators to orbital hotels, underwater cruise ships, wall-sized holographic TVs, fully immersive virtual reality (VR) experiences, and real or holographic "avatars." All of those things could become reality in the coming decades. So new occupations will likely emerge based on what explorers and fun-minded visionaries imagine as being part of humanity's best future. Jobs that arise from these factors will be some of the coolest occupations that have ever existed.
II. Выберите наиболее подходящий заголовок к тексту:
A. Technology is the main driving force. B. Factors influencing the labor market of tomorrow. C. The next generation of jobs.
III. Выпишите номера тех предложений, которые соответствуют содержанию текста:
1. Technology is the strongest force that will influence the job markets of tomorrow.
2. Although technology is the strongest force that will influence the labor markets of tomorrow, there are factors that are also important.
3. More than 60 per cent of occupations existing today might have about half of their tasks automated.
4. Jobs involving manual labour are mainly at risk of automation.
5. Technology is certainly powerful, but it will probably not influence the office and white-collar jobs.
6. Such factors as sharing economy and blockchain technology are unlikely to change the next generation of jobs.
7. Regular manned missions to the moon and Mars, space elevators to orbital hotels, underwater cruise ships, wall-sized holographic TVs, fully immersive virtual reality (VR) experiences, and real or holographic "avatars" might soon become real.
8. The advances in exploration, entertainment, and recreation will not have a great influence on job market of tomorrow .
