■ Ex. 1. Look at the two pictures below. In picture 1 Nolan Wainwright is entering Miles Eastin's apartment. In picture 2 Miles Eastin is writing a confession. What has happened in between? What has Nolan Wainwright done? What has Miles Eastin done? For facts and vocabulary consult Unit III, Section A, Ex. 2, 3.

ACTIVITY

Look at the picture below. You can see Alex Vandervoort and Nolan Wainwright in it. Say what they do, where they are, what they are doing, what they have done and what haven't. In each case give your reasons. Do it one after another.

■ Ex. 2Complete the following passage about Alex Vandervoort and Margot Bracken. Put in the correct form of the verbs in brackets.

Alex Vandervoort is in the living-room of his apartment. Margot Bracken is there too. Alex (meet) her a year and a half ago at a cocktail party given by Edwina D'Orsey and her husband Lewis and (fall) for her at once. Margot is a lawyer. There are advertising proofs for Keycharge credit cards prepared by the Austin Advertizing Agency on the living-room rug. Margot (look) at them and (talk) to Alex.

"What are you going to do tonight?" she wants to know.

Make up and practice similar talks with your friends about films and plays you would like to see, books you would like to read, restaurants and cafes you would like to eat at, discotheque you would like to go. Make use of the grid below.
