В современном мире журналы несут как информационную, так и презентационную функцию. Всё чаще становясь элементом имиджа и корпоративного стиля, журналы провоцируют развитие типографской промышленности и предъявляют огромные требования к качеству типографских услуг.
К сожалению, далеко не каждая типография может сделать это на достойном, современном уровне. Во-первых, для печати, отвечающей современным стандартам, нужно иметь современное импортное и весьма дорогостоящее оборудование. Во-вторых, персонал типографии обязан соответствовать по своей квалификации этой технике. Глянцевые журналы печатаются, в зависимости от тиража, на офсетном или цифровом оборудовании.
