as impurities, may reflect this relation. The spicules of sea urchins consist of calcite crystals with dog-tooth Habitus, as will be described in Chapter 14, which may be due to the same reason. On the other hand, the morphology of calcite crystals forming the exo-skeleton of coccoliths show an entirely different Habitus; see the discussion in Chapter 14.
