2.1 Read and translate the text: Female Reproductive System
The female reproductive system consists of organs which produce ova (the female sex cells) and provide a place for the growth of the embryo. Ova are produced by the ovary from the puberty period to menopause. Ovaries are the pair of reproductive glands in the lower abdomen.
Besides the ovaries the major organs of the female reproductive system include the fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina and the vulva. Vulva is the external genitalia. It includes vaginal lips, clitoris and the vaginal and urethral orifices. The space between the vaginal orifice and the anus is called perineum. To the female reproductive system belong also the breasts. They are two milk-producing glands.
Pregnancy is the condition that exists in a woman between the time when one of her eggs is fertilized by a sperm and the time when her child is born.

Childbirth
When you a woman is ready to have her baby, she'll go through labor. Contractions let her know labor is starting. When contractions are five minutes apart, the body is ready to push the baby out.
During the first stage of labor, the cervix slowly opens, or dilates, to about 4 inches wide. At the same time, it becomes thinner. This is called effacement. A woman shouldn't push until her uterus is fully effaced and dilated. When it is, the baby delivery stage starts. Crowning is when the baby's scalp comes into view. Shortly afterward, a baby is born. The placenta that nourished the baby follows.
Mothers and babies are monitored closely during labor. Most women are healthy enough to have a baby through normal vaginal delivery, meaning that the baby comes down the birth canal without surgery. If there are complications, the baby may need to be delivered surgically by a Cesarean section.
