Review of pronouns

Exercise 1

Use one or ones.

Example: You’ve got a video, but I haven’t got a video. – You’ve got a video, but I haven’t got one.

  1. Do you like the brown shoes or the black shoes?

  2. Who are those men? – The men in the car.

  3. My house is the house next door.

  4. We’d like to have a holiday in May and another holiday in September.

  5. Our children are the children near the tree.

Find the mistakes in the sentences and correct them.

Who - хто

What - що

Which - який, котрий

Whose - чий

Who - refers to a person.

What - refers to things, may be applied to a person (profession, occupation).

Which - refers both to persons and things.

Which is used when choice is implied

Who told you about that?

What newspaper are you reading?

What are you – Teachers?

Which of them is a doctor?

Whose bag have you taken?
