2. Use

a) We use going to to talk about something in the future which we can see as a result of something in the present.

Look at those black clouds in the sky. It’s going to rain.

b) We also use going to to talk about what we intend to do in the future. We use going to when we have already decided to do something.

“Why have you moved all the furniture out of this room?” “I’m going to clean the carpet.”

“Jane has just sold her car.” “Is she going to buy a new one?”
