Exercise 5

Instead of possessive pronouns use the noun in the Possessive Case.

Example:

These are his representatives. These are our detector’s representatives.

  1. These are our price-lists.

  2. This is his firm.

  3. What are their terms of delivery?

  4. Those are her trade contacts.

  5. This is her final reply.

  6. This is our president.

  7. We sell only boilers of his model.

  8. Their terms of payment are not acceptable to us.

  9. His documents are on the desk.

  10. Bring me please her letters and telexes.

  11. Their mining equipment is in great demand.

Exercise 6

Most of these sentences have a mistake in them. Correct them, or if there is no mistake, write right.

  1. I believe it’s very difficult to find a cheap accommodation in London.

  1. We’re looking for a place to rent. RIGHT

  2. We’re late because they’re re-surfacing the motorway and the traffics are terrible.

Exercise 7

Fill the spaces in the following conversation with one of the words in the box. Sometimes you need the plural (-s), and some of the words are used more than once.

Mary and Liz are about to go on holiday together. Mary has come to collect Liz in her car.

MARY: Hello, Liz, are you ready?
