When and if sentences

We use the present simple to refer to the future in clauses of time and condition after when, while, as soon as, after, before, till (until), if, unless, as long as.

will / won’t present simple

I’ll buy a newspaper

We won’t go out

We’ll go to the beach

I’ll go to the party

when I go out.

until it stops raining.

if the weather is fine.

after I finish my work.

Exercises

1. Put one verb in each sentence into the present simple and the other verb into the will / won’t form.

Example: If I fail (fail) the exam,

I’ll take (take) it again.
