Все продукты, содержащие лоперамид, должны быть противопоказаны для использования детьми. Следует запретить все педиатрические лекарственные формы (сиропы, капли и т.д.).
Вся информация и рекламные материалы о продуктах, содержащих лоперамид, должны содержать предупреждение о том, что:
пероральная регидратационная терапия является первоочередным видом лечения в большинстве видов диареи;
следует избегать использования этого продукта при острой диарее;
следует избегать использования этого продукта для беременных и кормящих грудью женщин; для пожилых людей; для страдающих нарушениями функции печени; и для пациентов, которым следует избегать запоров;
этот продукт не должен использоваться для стандартного лечения воспалительных заболеваний кишечника.
Национальные регламентирующие органы, возможно, пожелают запретить этот продукт как неосновной при лечении диареи. По крайней мере следует запретить производство или продажу жидких лекарственных форм или сиропов для педиатерического использования.
