Условные предложения (Conditionals)
В сложноподчиненных предложениях с придаточными условными выделяются три типа условных предложений: реальное условие (1 тип), маловероятное условие (2 тип), нереальное условие (3 тип).
1 тип. Если говорящий считает выдвигаемое условие выполнимым (реальным), он употребляет и в главном, и в придаточном предложениях формы изъявительного наклонения (времена), т.е. в этом случае сослагательное не употребляется.
If the offender is under 14 he is not sentenced to imprisonment.
Если правонарушитель моложе 14 лет, его не приговаривают к тюремному заключению.
(И в главном и в придаточном предложениях употреблено время Present Indefinite. Частица бы при переводе не употреблена.)
Примечание. В английском языке, если в главном предложении употреблено будущее время, то в придаточном употребляется настоящее, а переводится оно будущим.

К условным предложениям 1 типа также относятся предложения в которых сказуемое придаточного предложения выражено вспомогательным глаголом.. (для всех лиц) + инфинитив (без to). Употребление в придаточном предложении сочетания should + Inf. придает условию оттенок меньшей вероятности, но не влияет на перевод предложения, т. е. should + Inf. переводится будущим временем изъявительного наклонения.
If you he should come, I’ll ask him to wait.

Should come - вспомогательный глагол + Inf.
Shall ask – Fut. Ind.
II тип. Условное предложение 2 типа выражают маловероятные действия, относящиеся к будущему или настоящему времени.
If the weather were fine tomorrow, we should go to the country.
Если бы завтра погода была хорошей, мы бы поехали за город.
Were - сослагательное 2 , совпадает с Past Indefinite.
Should go - сослагательное 1 (вспомогательный глагол + Inf. Ind)
В условных предложениях 2 типа в придаточных употребляется сослагательное 2, совпадающее с Past Ind., а в главном – сослагательное 1 (сочетание should или would + Inf. Ind).
Условное предложение 2 типа преводится на русский язык условными предложениями с глаголами в сослагательном наклонении (т.е. глагол в прошедшем времени с частицей бы).
III тип. Условные предложения 3 типа выражают нереальные действия, относящиеся к прошедшему времени.
The criminal would not have escaped, if his wife had not helped him.
Преступник не убежал бы, если бы его жена не помогла ему.
Would not have escaped - сослагательное 1 (всп. Гл. + Inf. Perf)
Had not helped – сослагательное 2, совпадает с Past Perfect.
В условных предложениях 3 типа в придаточном предложении употребляется сослагательное 2, совпадающее по форме с Past Perfect, а в главном сослагательном 1 типа (сочетание should или would + Inf. Perfect ).
Условные предложения 3 типа на русский язык переводятся условными предложениями с глаголами в сослагательном наклонении (т.е. глагол в прошедшем времени с частицей бы).
Таким образом, условные предложения 1 типа выражают реальные действия, а 2 и 3 типы – нереальные действия, и поэтому в них употребляется наклонение: в главном – сослагательное 1, в придаточном – сослагательное 2.

В русском языке не дается различия между 2 и 3 типом условия, поэтому оба эти типа на русский язык переводятся одинаково. Не забывайте при переводе употреблять частицу бы.
Смешанный тип. Иногда действие придаточного предложения относится к прошедшему времени, а действие главного предложения – к настоящему или будущему или наоборот. Тогда мы имеем смешанный тип условного предложения.
