Восклицания в косвенной речи передаются при помощи exclaim, thank, wish, cry out (in pain), give an exclamation (of surprise/horror/disgust/delight, etc.). Междометия опускаются.
“Oh!” she said as she hit her head on the door. → She cried out in pain as she hit her head on the door.

1. “I have never seen her.” 2. “It’s no use telling him about it, he will not understand.” 3. “She is usually at college at this time of the day.” 4. “What is he doing now?” 5. “He is speaking on the phone.”
2. Посмотрите на пример.
Сделайте по аналогии.
Example: – Why did you start crossing the street?
(Did he tell you ...?)
Did he tell you why he had started crossing the street?
No, he didn’t tell me why he had started crossing the street.
1. Have you got the description of the suspects? (Did he want to know...?) 2. How did the thief penetrate? (Did he ask you ...?) 3. Is she able to add anything? (Did you find out ... ?)
3. Передайте следующее в косвенной речи.
Example: Bring me the book! (ask)
He asked me to bring him the book.
1. Check it yourself! (tell). 2. Sit down! (ask). 3. Do it again! (tell). 4. Don’t do it! (tell). 5. Come in! (invite).
4. Перестройте в косвенную речь.
1. She said, "I am tired." 2. "I always drink coffee", she said. 3. "I am reading a book", he explained. 4. "Bill arrived on Saturday", he said. 5."I have been to Spain", he told me.
5. Найдите ошибки и исправьте их.
1. They suggested to see the film. 2. He asked me where was I going. 3. Can you tell me what time is it? 4. He told me to not touch the parcel. 5. I wonder why did he lie to me. 6. The suspect denied to murder the young woman. 7. They accused him to have committed the crime.
