Here are some words to help you check your understanding of the dialogues. You should know the bold words to make your communication easier.
advice (n): opinion given by one person to another on how to do something
business district (n): the area of a town where you shop and work
cash (n): money in coins or notes
cookware (n): containers used for cooking
cut (adj.): made, designed
gift certificate (n): a coupon that can be bought at many stores and exchanged later for merchandise; you can get a gift certificate for someone when you don’t know what present to give
head (v): to move in a certain direction
register or cash register (n): a machine in a store used for adding prices and keeping money
on sale: can be bought at a reduced price
sales slip (n): a receipt given in a shop
size (n): degree of largeness or smallness
stuff (n): things
suit (n): a set of articles of outer clothing of the same material
tailored (adj.): made by cutting and sewing to a person’s measurements; often used to mean well-cut, or having the look of being tailored
try smth on (v): to put on (clothes, etc.) to see whether it fits, looks well, etc.)
