II. Remember the following conversation formulas:

Ways of inviting people:

  • Shall we go to …?

  • May I invite you to … ?

  • Let’s go to … .

  • Would you like to … ?

  • What/how about doing smth?

Accepting the invitation:

  • Yes, I’d like to.

  • Why not.

  • Well. I like the idea.

  • With pleasure.

  • Not a bad idea.

  • That’s a good idea.

When you turn down (reject) an invitation you say:

  • I’m sorry, I’m busy. Thank you.

  • I don’t really want to. Thanks.

  • I’m not really in the mood. Thanks.

  • I don’t feel like doing it.

  • Thanks. I already have plans.

III. Invite your friends:

a) to go out to have dinner

b) to have a cup of coffee

c) to go to see some friends of yours

d) to dance with you

e) to have lunch with you in a café

f) to your birthday party.

IV. What do we call places people go to eat? Match the words in the left column with the definitions in the right column:
