She imagined that Harry was “up there” and looking down from time to time, so she tried to take good care of his proud creation. Before he began his career with the national weather service, Harry had studied geography and art. Although he’d had to give up his artistic ambitions, Harry still managed to find ways to be creative in his spare time. He had designed and created something unique in their front garden. It wasn’t a garden in the usual sense. There were no plants. Emily had tried to put in some flowers around the edges, but they always died. Her neighbour, Mrs. Blair, said it was probably because there was all that cement in the soil. Harry hadn’t known, when he was mixing the cement, sand and water, then pouring it out into the wooden frame, that his concrete map of Britain would end up as the only thing in the garden, apart from the weeds that grew in small cracks in the river valleys.
(2)When there was a spell of warm summer weather, the weeds would spread out from the cracks, especially in the south around the London area. Before Emily could get to them, they would almost be in Wales, a wild patch of green in the pale grey expanse of the rest of the country. The busiest time was autumn, when Emily had to go out and sweep the whole country every morning. If it wasn’t wet, she could just use a brush to push the leaves down through England and sweep them away in the general direction of France. When it rained a lot, she would stand inside, watching the leaves pile up in a soggy mess over most of Scotland.
(3)Even though it wasn’t really cold during most of the winter, there would occasionally be freezing days of snow and sleet, after which Harry’s concrete map would be transformed into a shining sculpture of pure ice. The rough edges of Britain would change into smooth glistening lines and the country would become an abstract shape, as if it had been carved from a large flat slab of marble by an expert hand. On a cold clear December morning, Emily would look out at the sculpture in her garden with a strong sense that, at that very moment, Harry was also looking down and enjoying the scene. He had used weather to create art from geography.

(A43) ___There are so many reasons that make a country to be civilized in this age that in order for a country to deserve the place of the most civilized one, it has to go steps beyond what we normally understand as civilization. As an ordinary observer who has had the privilege of visiting several countries in the world covering all the continents, and complemented by some degree of research, I must say, Great Britain is an extraordinary country which stands out in the progressive process of civilization.
(A44) ___Civilization has bypassed the stage where it was judged basically by arts, literature, culture as in the past and later, freedom, liberty, modernism and technology to name just a few. These require further understanding of the structures and nature of the present world instead of the common purpose of mankind which is the pursuit of happiness.
(A45)___Any city like London, becoming a plethora of cultural convergence which makes it the richest city in varieties of humans, “cultural miracle of the world” deservedly prides itself and thereby becomes one of the greatest champion modern cities. There is no known form of human existence in the worldwide that you would not find in London.
(A46) ___Everyone must be treated based on personal merit and nothing else. Great Britain is a country which has not failed to realize but equally and visibly implemented the modern belief that for the world to be a better place, it is unavoidable to treat each individual fairly and with respect regardless of their origin, race, belief and other discriminatory intuitions which has incessantly shamed the history of man. Sadly, some other “civilized” countries are still to catch up with this attitude.
(A47) ___Great Britain is a country where anyone feels at home because of the rich variety of its people. There are whites, blacks, brown, blue, green, Muslims, orthodox, homosexuals, all sorts of people; in the immigration, in airports, offices, even in the army

and all the other society layers which leaves everyone at ease, to say the least. A thing, which apart from the USA, is a reality only in the dreams of a majority of non-locals in other developed countries particularly in continental Europe.
(A48) ___A lot of endless factors contribute to civilization. Here one can name appreciating, dealing with and respecting the values of others in the way they are, and many more. Great Britain has by the very formation and nature of its society unified a great majority of these factors and advanced further to distinguish itself as one of the most civilized countries in the world.
