23 Decreased Opacity with Cystic Walls

 

 

Patient Prognosis

The most common causes of death are respiratory failure and liver cirrhosis. Beyond the usual treatment of COPD, specific treatment consists of the infusion of purified pooled human plasma α1-antitrypsin, known as intravenous augmentation therapy. It has shown a clear efficacy in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials.
