Т: Now let’s look what new words there are in exercise 1 on page 23. Picture 1. Can you guess what it is? Let’s compare the word rice with the Ukrainian word «рис». These words sound very similar, don’t they? So you’ll easily remember rice.

In picture 2 we can see a chicken. Have we met this word yet? What topic did we discuss then? (The topic «Farm» in the 3rd form.) As you can see this word refers not only to living birds, but also to the food.

In pictures 3, 4 we can see two boys. One is hungry — he wants to eat. What is he think­ing about? (about a sandwich). And the other one is thirsty — he wants to drink. What is he imagining? (a drink).

2. Reading

1. Етап підготовки до читання.

Бесіда за малюнком до тексту.

Т: Who can you see? What’s Bill doing? What is he cooking? What’s there in the fridge?

2. Етап читання.

Учні читають діалог за ролями.

3. Етап перевірки розуміння змісту діалогу.

Т: Why is Tom interested in what there is in the fridge? What would he like to eat? What is Bill offering him? Why doesn’t Tom want any milk or j uice? Why are they going shopping?

4. Складання діалогу на основі прочитаного.

Учні складають діалоги в парах, використовуючи подані у вправі слова та словоспо­лучення.

3. Відпрацювання структур there is/are із неозначеними займенниками some/any.

1. Впр. 3(с. 22).

Учні, спираючись на граматичний матеріал вправи, пригадують випадки вживання неозначених займенників some і any.

2. Впр. 4 (с. 24).

Учні читають діалог за ролями, заповнюючи в ньому пропуски займенниками some і any.

3. РЗ, впр. 1 (с. 12).

Учні записують пропущені слова, потім по черзі читають речення.

4. Відпрацювання структур із неозначеними займенниками some/any у мовленні.

Рольова гра «У кав’ярні».

Учні в групах (один з учнів виконує роль офіціанта, решта — відвідувачів кав’ярні) складають діалоги: відвідувачі запитують офіціанта про наявність страв, пояснюючи свій вибір (Is there any juice? I’m thirsty. Is there any cake? I love cakes!). Офіціант відповідає, а також пропонує страви (There is no fruit salad, but there is banana ice­cream.). При складанні діалогів учні можуть користуватися підручником або вчитель пише опорні конструкції на дошці.

5. Виконання завдання на картках.

Т: Let’s see how well you remembered the grammar material.

Учні усно виконують завдання на картках, по черзі читаючи речення.
