1. Выражение отношений родительного падежа при помощи предлога “of”.

Отношения, передаваемые русским родительным падежом (кого? чего?), в английском языке передаются при помощи суффикса “of”. Это закон, и он верен для одушевлённых и неодушевлённых существительных.

Существительные в общем падеже не принимают никаких окончаний.

  1. Существительное в притяжательном падеже являются определением к другому существительному, обозначает принадлежность и отвечает на вопрос чей, чья, чьи, чьё.

  2. Существительное принимает окончание “~’s” и произносится по правилам чтения “~’s” в конце слова.

  3. Притяжательный падеж существительных во множественном числе образуется при помощи знака апострофа “ ‘ ” на письме. При произнесении разница угадывается из контекста. Исключения составляют слова “men, women, children”, образующие притяжательный падеж при помощи “~’s ”.

3. Вопрос с вопросительным словом “Whose”.

Use

“Be going to + infinitive” is used:

  1. to express a future decision, intention or plan made before the moment of speaking.

  • I’m going to move to Kiev.

  • She isn’t going to have a birthday party.

  • How long are you going to stay here?

Note: To have a similar meaning you can use the Present Continuous, particularly with the verbs of movement: arrive, leave, come, go, meet etc.

      • I’m arriving tomorrow at 1700.

      • She’s coming on Friday.

      • We’re meeting Alan at the airport.

  1. When you can see or feel at the moment that something is certain to happen in the future.

  • Look at these clouds! It’s going to rain.

  • Watch out! That box is going to fall.

  • You work so hard. You are going to be rich and successful.

5. Compare “will” and “be going to”.

Look at the use of “will” and “be going to” in the following sentences.

  • A: We’ve run out of sugar.

B: I know. I’m going to buy some.

  • What shall I cook for dinner? I’ll make a chicken. (I’ve decided at the moment)

Выражается вероятность того, что действие произойдёт.

Note: The question about the future evening’s arrangements most naturally uses the Present Continuous form.
