Mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs

bsolute form of possessive pronouns may function as both adjectives and nouns.

e.g. He is a friend of mine.

Is this coat yours? ~ Yes, it`s mine.

Sometimes, we find absolute form of possessive pronouns proceded by the proposition "of". This combination is called "a double genitive".

e.g. It happened through no fault of mine. - Это случилось не по моей вине.

4. The Present Simple Tense. Настоящее время, простой аспект действия.

Смысл высказывания передаётся при помощи вербальной модели, которая является способом подачи информации лингвистическими средствами.

Notes: 1. He, She, It, Who, What, Which add ~s, ~es to the verb. Verbs ending in ~sh, ch, ss, o, x add ~es to the verb. e.g. wash – washes, teach – teaches, go – goes etc.

2. Verbs ending in consonant+y change y→i and add ~es to the verb after He, She, It, Who, What, Which. e.g. study – studies, carry – carries etc.

3. В письменной речи используются формы do not, does not, а в устной речи don’t, doesn’t. Следует отметить, что это не жёсткая норма языкового употребления.

D. We frequently use the following time expressions (adverbs of frequency) with the present simple: always (всегда), regularly (регулярно), often (часто), usually (обычно), sometimes (иногда), seldom (редко), occasionally (периодически), never (никогда) etc.

In sentences with a weak verb, we put the time expression before a notional verb that serves a Predicate.

e.g. Verbal model ~ You always start work at 9 o`clock.

Structural model ~ Subject – adverb – predicate (verb) -…

In sentences with a strong verb "be", we put the time expression after a notional verb that serves a Predicate.

e.g. Verbal model ~ He is always busy on Mondays.

Structural model ~ Subject – predicate (be) - adverb – …

Repeated times, e.g. every day, every Sunday, every morning, in the morning, in the summer, at 5 o`clock etc., take place of Adverbial Modifier of time.

e.g. Verbal model ~ Lessons start at 9 o`clock in the morning.

Structural model ~ Subject– predicate (verb) - … - Adv.M.
