Laughs parade Quick on the Draw

At Guard Mounting Parade the OD (officer of the day) was questioning a rookie guard, intent on finding out how well he had mastered the Guard regulations. “Suppose you looked up and saw a battleship coming over that drill field there, what would you do?”

The guard stared at the OD in amazement and suddenly gulped out: “I’d grab a torpedo and sink it.”

The officer gave a mocking laugh. “Where would you get a torpedo?” he sneered.

The rookie stared hin straight in the eye and replied: “The same place you get that battleship, sir.”

Epitaph on Mascot

Here is an epitaph on the gravestone of an Army mule:

“Here lies Maggie, the unit mascot, who in her time kicked two colonels four majors, ten captains, 24 lieutenants, 42 sergeants, 486 privates, and one mine.”

Promotion-Dreams and Reality

Two privates were discussing promotion prospects in the military career.

“When I joined the Army I made up my mind to be a general.”

“You are still a buck private.”

“Yes. I’m. I found that it was easier to change my mind.”
