Ex.1 Read the text and translate it into Ukrainian:
The us president
The executive power in the USA is vested in a president, who holds office for four years. The President may be re-elected and serve two terms running but no longer than that. The President in the USA is the Chief-Executive of the Government, he is Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, and until it comes to treaty-making is supreme in foreign affars. Congress may critisise what the President does and may refuse financial support for his foreign programmes but its members generally admit the constitutional role of the Chief executive in determining policies, in recognizing foreign government, in appointing ambassadors to foreign countries and in carrying on relations with foreign governments and organizations.
The President is assited by the Cabinet which is composed of the heads of the ten executive departments:
Secretary of States;
Secretary of the Treasure;
Secretary of Defence;
Attorney-General;
Postmaster-General;
Secretary of the Interior;
Secretary of Agriculture;
Secretary of Commerce;
Secretary of Labour;
Secretary of Health, Education and Walfare.
The secretaries are accountable for their work only to the President himself and the latter can dismiss them whenever he chooses without facing a political crisis.
The US President and his Cabinet are often reffered to as “Administration” (i.g. the Roosevelt Administration).
