Hello! My name is Sasha. Our school is not an ordinary one. It is a new type of school, it is a collegium. The school was built in 1994. It is a new modern three-storied building with all modern conviences and comfort. In our school foreign languages are very important. Certainly we learn English, we have English every day except Saturday and Sunday. We also have German or French two days a week. But my favorite lessons are History, Physical Training, Computer Studies and, of course, English. English is one of the best subjects to study. Sure, my favorite textbook is “WOW”, because it is the Window on the World and we can learn English very well using this textbook. If you want to learn English, I offer you working with a very nice textbook “WOW”.

I like our English teacher Olena Oleksiyvna, she is a very good and kind teacher. At her lessons we read different texts and translate them. We also do many training exercises and I like it. We also take part in many competitions and Olympiads in languages. I like English very much and it is interesting for me to learn this beautiful language. I am interested in American and English way of life. My dream is to go to London, so I must know English very well. And it is my mission. I study English because I like this language and it will be useful if I am an interpreter because we also study German and French. When my father watches TV programs where people speak English, he asks me to translate for him, I do it with pleasure. But I have some problems as for English too. If I knew English very well, I would go to America or England, or may be to Australia. To sum up, foreign languages are very important in our life, so we must learn them. If you know some foreign languages we may perceive the whole world. I wish you to know at least one foreign language. Good luck!

Hello! My name is Dasha. I’m thirteen. I’m a pupil of the 7^th form of Novograd-Volynsky Collegium.

I enjoy reading, fancying different stories, watching intellectual shows on TV, embroider, running, studying English and singing. I like singing English songs most of all.

My school was built in 1994. In my opinion, it’s the best school in our town. It has achieved a lot for a short period of 10 years and it is very different from other school. Though the discipline is strict, it is always clean here. There are many classrooms, computer rooms, a beautiful hall, a big library, a gymnasium, a dancing room and playgrounds. Pupils of our school are always taking part in different competitions, Olympiads. Our school life is very interesting.

We learn many subjects such as Maths, History, Geography, Aesthetics, English, German, French, and Biology. The subjects I like most of all are English and Physical Training. I love learning English because I’ve been learning it since the first form. My mother says that I will probably need English in future. When I started learning English 7 years ago, I could hardly say a word. Year by year we learned more and more vocabulary, and improved our grammar. Now I’m sure I have made a progress. I’m always studying English because I like this language and I might need it in my future. Besides, I should know English if I want to understand the words of the foreign songs I like.

I like sport. I used to run a lot when I was younger, and do it now. I’m fond of both running and jumping over the plank. I always take part in competitions and I often win.

I love reading too. I think all pupils must like reading. As for English I like our “WOW” book very much because it is very interesting and there is no Ukrainian words in it, so we are always trying to understand the tasks ourselves.

There are many good teachers in our school. I like Natalya Leonidivna, our teacher of English, very much. She is nice and intelligent. I like the way she explains us new material. She always makes different grammar tables, draws pictures, and it helps us to understand and to remember the material better. At our English lessons we always have much to do. At first I sometimes felt tired of learning English, but I’m used to learn hard now. We are always given a lot of home task. At our lessons we make up dialogues, discuss different problems, listen and learn songs and poems, do grammar exercises, read interesting texts about life of teenagers and life in future. Sometimes I don’t understand some material but I think you needn’t worry about making mistakes sometimes, because we learn on our mistakes. Some students in our group have problems with English, other pupils are always ready to help. I’ve chosen to study English because I think I understand it well and I feel it. I don’t know for sure if my future profession will be connected with foreign languages. For the present I dream of becoming a make-up designer. It must be a good job for me because I like doing a hair-do and make-up. But I don’t forget about English. I agree with my father who always tells me not to be lazy about languages, because it will help me to get a good job. I believe he is right. After I had studied English for 7 years, I understood that I like it, and I need it! I keep learning English until I speak it perfectly.
