Lessons report by natalka buzian and kateryna ivanets’

The profession of a teacher is very old. It has changed in times. But nevertheless it is still very important for the society. Nowadays the profession of a teacher is very difficult, especially in our country, because of the hard economic situation and other different reasons.

This school year we started a new project ‘’TO BE A TEACHER’’. It is very actual to start such a project in the 11th grade, because someone can try itself as a teacher and later enter the pedagogical university. We were the first volunteers, who conducted English lesson in the 8th grade. Before this lesson we had heard a lot of interesting things about this English group­ – that they are very active, creative and so on. So, we prepared very thoroughly . We works with Plahotnyk’s book, the topic ‘’English poets and writers’’. At the beginning of the lesson we asked students about their opinion as to our project and the profession of a teacher. The pupils really were very active. Natasha recited a poem in Russian by G.G. Byron. After reading the text about poets and writers we asked them to make up the dialogues. We have to say that their dialogues were unique and not ordinary. Ones we think our group while studying English for a long period of time have not done such dialogues yet. We listened to their dialogues with great pleasure. After that we made a usual quiz to recall the main facts they had heart during the lesson. Pupils also wrote a short test. The students were polite and cultural. Of course they didn’t accept us as real teachers, but in general we think our lesson was OK. The results were as follows: Natalka’s average mark is 4.68 and Katya’s - 4.70. According to the survey we have to pay more attention to the lesson’s program. We think our project ‘’ TO BE A TEACHER ‘’ is a good kind of activity.

2003 * Абетка шкільного життя

Проект виконувався наприкінці 11 класу. Його матеріал був своєрідним підсумком діяльності групи за весь період спільного навчання та співпраці. Час виконання та оформлення -- один місяць. На одному з уроків учні назвали 26 слів, пов’язаних зі шкільним життям, всіма його галузями. Слова починалися на літери англійської абетки. Кожен учень шляхом вибору чи жеребкування отримав 2-3 теми, за якими писав відповідну розповідь. Обговорення написаного відбулося на одному з останніх уроків і, за словами учнів, “виглядало як дзеркало десяти років шкільного життя. Наступні покоління випускників матимуть можливість порівняти своє “сьогодення” та “історію”.

Probably every pupil in his life felt himself like an alien in the class he studied. The main reasons of that they’re as follows. Changing of schools and as a result, being a newcomer, when everybody of your new classmates talk, joke with each other, but you don’t know anybody, and just feel yourself like a separate part. But very often this last not very long, cos’ everything changed when you find a friend from your classroom. The bright example of being in such situations is Maria Bachyn’ska, cos’ she changed schools for 5 times. Bad relations with teachers, very often this is a result of pupil’s bad behavior on the lessons of this or that teacher, and at the end - reduction of marks on this subject. For example: Pavlo Turovsky (Ukrainian lessons), Taras Khraban (Biology)… Bad relations with administration of our school, and as a result of this, in 2000-2001school year 7 pupils of our grade went to another school: Shyshov Sasha (September), Sydorenko Dima (October), Atamanenko Sasha (October), Grigoriev Serhiy (December), Kunakh Sasha (December), Trofymets Serhiy (January), Lavrenchuk Ivan (January). And at last, joining of grades, and formation groups of alliances and so-called space.
