My name is Dasha. I study at school #11. I’m sure that studying at school is one of the most important periods in our life. I am happy that I spend this important period of life in my native school. My school is the best in our town.

I began to study English in the first form. I know that the English language is one of the most important languages in the modern world. As far as I know this language is the official language in such countries as the United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the South-African Republic, India and many African countries. English is one of the five official languages of the great English literature. It is the language of Shakespeare, Byron and Charles Dickens.

From the early childhood we have enjoyed reading the books by English writers. Who does not know Winnie – the poor, Sherlock Holmes and Robinson Crusoe! To my mind English is a very melodic language. When I heard English speech for the first time I understood that there was great difference between English and Ukrainian in sounds and pronunciation. I have an elder brother. When I was younger I used to listen to him when he was doing his reading English lessons. I listened to his reading English books. I was very happy when I began to study English too. I study English with my favorite teacher Tabenska Galina Nikolaevna. I like listening to her English speech. When she explains grammar rules everything is clear for me. Her lessons are very interesting! She tells us much about Great Britain, the USA, about the traditions in these countries.

And besides, my mother always tells me that English will be necessary for me in my future live. Maybe I will work in a travel agency, maybe I will travel by myself. I will be able to communicate with people from many different countries.

That is why I pay much attention to English and I hope that in future I shall know this language well. To be continued…

Hello! My name is Yehor. I am a pupil of the 7^th form of Novograd-Volynsky collegium. Our collegium is a very popular school. We have a lot of winners in different subjects. But we study English advanced. As for me, I’ve been studying English for about 7 years. I am learning English, German, Maths, Ukrainian, Ukrainian Literature, World Literature, World History, Ukrainian History, Geography, Biology, Labor Training, Arts, Music, Physical Training and Physics. I know that I will need some of these subjects in future. The subjects I like are English, Maths, History and World Literature. Best of all I like English lessons. At these lessons we work very hard. But we also often play with English words, it help us to store our active vocabulary. I’d rather study English than German. And according to my sister, she likes both of them. Anyway I hope I will know both of them. At English tests we prefer make notes, but we never use them because of Halyna Mykolaivna. I must know English because I want to get well-paid job. And it will help me to enter the university. I write this composition, because I want to revise my own knowledge. But I have one problem with studying English, I really don’t like to learn spelling of words. As for English we have a very interesting and useful books. These books look like a magazine or comics! These books are products of Oxford University Press. The information in these books is build logically and grammar is given in the certain situations. That’s why now studying English is more easily than it was 4 years ago. My mother tells my not to be lazy. And I know that I should work hard if I want to enter the university. Fortunately I have very good teachers. Halyna Mykolaivna is my favorite teacher of my favorite subject. I think she is the best teacher of English in our collegium. Irina Dmytrievna also is my favorite teacher. In my opinion she is the best teacher of Maths. She also teaches me extra Maths. I am very lazy, that’s why I must learn and work very hard. I must never stop working. I know my mother regularly learns English. I think it is never late to begin studying, but it is better to learn all in time. I know I never give up studying.
