Hello! My name is Olia. I am a pupil of the seventh form of Novograd-Volynskiy Collegium. My school was built in April, 1994. The first aim was to found the school of the 21^st century, the school of a new type, new way of education. The present teachers’ staff was organized after many years of working. The administration had to buy a lot of books, additional materials for teachers and pupils, audio equipment, computers. For the last ten years our school has been reformed many times. For example, in 1999 our secondary school became a specialized school with advanced studying of English. On the first of September 2003 our school got the name “Collegium”. Our teachers improve the knowledge of the most talented and clever children. I am proud to be the pupil of a Collegium, though I have to learn many subjects – Geography, Ukrainian, Russian, Literature, Maths, Foreign Languages, History, Computer Studies, Physics, Biology, Labor Training and others. All these subjects are interesting but my favorite ones are History, Geography, Computer Studies and Labor Training. I like these lessons because we always use interesting books at the lessons. Besides, I like the teachers. I think pupil should have books with a lot of exciting and interesting information if you want them to learn hard. There are about 70 teachers in our school. All of them provide us with knowledge of different things we must know and get us ready for future. I enjoy studying English because our teacher makes all possible to help us understand and remember her lessons. I think she makes us be interested in English. She gives us her knowledge. Maybe I am interested in English because I used to study it. I have been learning it since the kindergarten, where we began to study English sounds, poems, and songs, while playing games. Our group is friendly. We always help each other with English and other subjects. There is a girl in our group, I don’t like because she is continually interrupting other pupils. She often doesn’t give the others the opportunity to say something. But in whole my relations with other pupils are OK. In my opinion, the school will help me to decide what job to choose. For example, learning English in a specialized class can help me to become an interpreter. I do my best to improve my English. I feel I must study harder but sometimes there are some problems. I think I have no enough time. My Mum tells me not to be lazy in learning English and German. I don’t know what profession I will choose, but I am sure I will need English in future. I want to thank our school (our principal and all the teachers) that make for pupils good conditions to study, to develop themselves physically and mentally.

Hello! My name is Sasha Bernatskiy. I want to tell you about foreign languages in our life. People know different foreign languages but the most important is English. As for me I began to study English when I was six. I tried to remember all words and word-combinations because my parents told me that I had to know English well. I think they were right.

The first three years in school we studied English with the books “English”, which were written by Plakhotnyk. But then we began to study English with “WOW”. In this book the information is more interesting but the material is more difficult than in other books. That’s why studying English is more interesting. I have five lessons of English a week. It is good because I can learn more words and word-combinations and grammar. Our English teacher is Alla Petrivna. She is a good teacher. Alla Petrivna has been teaching us since the first form. We always understand all material. She often gives us additional material about holidays, television, computers and other things. Last year I took part in the Olympiad in English and took the second place. I think it is a good result. And our group took also the second place in the game “Merry Train”. We must learn English because in future we will be able to go abroad and English is an international language. We will communicate with Americans and Englishmen. Our jobs may be connected with English. I think English is very important in our life and all people must study it. I hope that I will know English very well.
