Катерина гуменюк, 7б клас
“So many languages you know,
So many times you’re a man.”
First of all I’d like to tell you about myself. My name is Katia Gumeniuk. I was born in 1990. My native town is Novohrad-Volynsky. I am 13. I am a pupil of the seventh form. I study at the collegium. Our school is a fine three-stored building. The school – building is very large. It has many classrooms and specialized rooms for studying different subjects. They are big and light. We have a big cloakroom, the teachers’ room, the headmaster’s room, and two gymnasiums.
The pupils study Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Ukrainian, Russian, English, History, Geography and Biology and many other things. My favorite subjects are English and Biology. I am a happy girl because I have been learning English since the first form. My father tells me not to be lazy. I enjoy studying English and I study regularly, often, gradually. I am given a lot of homework. At our English lessons we learn to speak English. We study vocabulary and grammar. At the English lessons we have good oral practice. We ask questions and answer them, make up stories on pictures, learn rhymes and poems, and read interesting stories. I keep studying German. I must know German too. My mother said that I would need English and German in future because these languages are the most widespread. They are in use in many countries. These languages are alive. English in spoken in Great Britain, the United States of America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. All over the world people speak English. I should work hard to enter the university. I am going to be a teacher of foreign languages. The profession of a teacher is generous. During all his or her live a teacher shares his or her knowledge with boys and girls. The profession requires much energy and devotion to work. I like my teacher of English. I’m proud of my teacher. The poem below is my favorite one. It is devoted to foreign languages.
Different Languages
I met a little girl
Who came from other land.
I couldn’t speak her language,
But I took her by the hand.
We danced together
And had such fun!
Dancing is a language
You can speak to anyone.
Олена кліванська, 7а клас
My full name is Klivanska Olena Victorivna. I am 13 years old. I am cheerful, sociable and happy girl. I have lots of interests such as sport and music. I like nature and take care of it. I enjoy travelling through the country very much. I love my town, because it is very nice. I study at the collegium and I am proud of it. I have the best friends – they are my classmates. My teachers are very efficient and qualified. And my parents are the kindest people in my life.
The fortune smiled me, because I have been learning English since the first form. Foreign languages came into my life from my childhood. I was born in the northern part of Russia in Blagoyevo town. In the kindergarten I heard Russian, Bulgarian and other languages. But at home I studied Ukrainian. It’s my mother tongue. I also understood, that I would need English in future.
I learn both English and German now, I like studying these languages. My English lesson is a small holiday. I wait for it and study regularly and gradually. I read newspapers, listen to the cassettes, and watch video-films in English and German. I learn many interesting facts every day. I have many friends in America, Germany and Israel. My family speak to them on the phone. I see my sisters Yeva and Mery every summer. They live in Texas. I speak English with them. They understand me very well. My dream is to go to Texas, because I want to improve my English and to master the language well. I’m going to be an interpreter. I think I’ll study French too. I want to go to Germany and to see museums of Beethoven and Wagner, the castle of Zygmaringen. It’s on the top of the mountain Schwarzwald, I’ll see the City - it’s the business center of London. I’ll go to Paris – the capital of France. I want to see the Eiffel tower and Notre-Dame. And I want… Oh! I have a lot of dreams and ambitions. I believe in my future. I believe in Ukraine, because it is my Motherland.
