My name is Andrew. I study at school #11. Our school is neither old nor new. It's ten years old. Our school is a specialized school with advanced learning English. It is situated in our district close to my hose. We study many different subjects: Ukrainian, English, German, History, Literature, Geography, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Programming & Computer science. History, English, Mathematics are my favorite subjects. I make a good progress in these subjects, I think. Our school is supplied with different modern books. The book I like most of all is "WOW". To my mind this book gives us not only the knowledge of English, but also much information about Great Britain & the life of teenagers of this country.

A school is not only a building, classrooms and so on, but it is the stuff of good teachers. Our teachers are the best specialists in our town. My favorite teacher is Galina Nikolayevna, my English teacher. We have our English lessons five days a week. We study pronunciation, vocabulary & grammar at our English lessons. Once a year we have a week of Foreign Languages at our school. During this week we have different competitions, interesting performances, conferences, discussions, "Round Tables''.

At our English lessons we often work in groups, make different dialogues, discuss different themes and dramatize different situations. From lesson to lesson we improve our knowledge, learn more & more new words, grammatical structures & put them into practice of speaking. We enjoy our English lessons & prepare carefully for them.

English is one of those languages that may seem easy in the beginning, but then the bridge between basic knowledge & mastery takes long time to cross. But if you cross this bridge it will give you great satisfaction. You will be able to speak to people from other countries, to read foreign authors in the original, which makes your outlook wider. It's not surprising that many intellectuals and well-educated people know many foreign languages. Speaking about my future profession I'd like to say that it is not a secret that Ukrainian economy is in a deep crisis. That's why it's very important for our country to have good economists to raise our economy at a higher level. I want to study economics. I want to understand the reasons of economic problems. So I want to become a good specialist & work for welfare of Ukraine. I learn English because I understand I can use it. As I am going to become an economist, I think it is very important for a specialist of high qualification to speak at least one foreign language. English is extremely necessary as it is the most popular language of international business communication. I'd like to add that I like to travel! But it is difficult to visit new places when you don't know the language of these countries. And it's much easier to travel when you know the language. If I want to ask somebody I can do it. So to know English today is absolutely necessary for every educated man, for every good specialist.
