Марія бачинська. “the club’s meeting”

One day we received a letter from Artem. He told us about his English lesson. The theme was “The Last 24 Hours of My Life”. When American students read their composition some of them cried. And our group decided to discuss this topic as well. First of all many of us wrote compositions and on the 18th of October we had our first this year Club’s meeting. Eight pupils came. They were Taras, Pasha, Katya, Masha B., Ira, Natasha B., Yulia and Inna. All of them told about their last 24 hours, about the things they would do. But now all of us want to live and always be kind people till the end of the life.

After our discussion we drank coffee Oleh Pavlovych Kladnitsky sent from Israel with chocolates. During this evening we had a nice time.

Катерина іванець. “thanksgiving”

Every year in our group we celebrate our traditional Thanksgiving holiday. Last year we celebrated it together with the party devoted to Veronicas arriving, eating pumpkin and apple pies and our traditional sandwiches with turkey paste.

This year we also joined three holidays: Thanksgiving, Birthday of our favorite teacher, and listening to a famous Russian rock opera ”The Star and the Death of Hoakin Murietta” about immigration.

First, we greeted our teacher. The show was impressive! We used Bengal lights and a lot of colorful balloons, so everybody could feel the atmosphere of the party. Then we listened to rock opera and had our tea party devoted to Thanksgiving holiday. As an old tradition, we took hands of each other and one by one thanked God for all the beautiful things we have in our lives.

Олена фурса. “immigration”

Many people emigrate from country to country. The reasons of that are different: residences, working, … but all of them had one common aim – looking for better life. As to people of Ukraine, mostly we immigrate because of working to such countries as Russia, Poland, Slovakia, Turkey, Israel, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Great Britain, and sometimes even to the United States and Canada. At one of the lessons we discussed such topics like: “Would we like to immigrate in future and to what country? Do we know anyone who has come to live to our country or immigrate to another?” We also discussed such a question as What would you miss most about if you went to live abroad? Here are the answers:

family (16 people), friends (10), language (6), nature (6), house (5), way of life (3), culture (3), town(1)

Наталка бузьян. “the fifth corner”

Our English lessons are full of surprises and unexpected things. It is very interesting, because we can’t predict what we are waited for. On December, 26 we had so called “The Fifth Corner”, where Taras and Natalka B. participated. “The Fifth Corner” is a kind of a conversation, when one person tries to ask another one some questions, which is difficult to answer. “To put to the fifth corner” means to ask a person the question, the last one can’t give a direct answer or tries to avoid it.

Taras was the first one, who took part in it. He was asked different questions about his family, problems, future and so on. He felt himself very easy and answered the questions easily too. After Taras my turn came. The questions to me differed from the previous ones. I was asked about feelings of patriotism, plans for future, studying in the institute, parents, my attitude to other people, classmates and so on.

I think such kind of activity is very useful because in such a way we can know a person better, his different sides of life.

At the end our teacher asked me to wish something. So I wished everybody great success and health. We need it espesially this year. Being healthy we will be able to do everything we want for us.
